Tsim Sha Tsui & 2008 Countdown

Fireworks - 2008 Countdown 31/12

sunny 19 °C

Yesterday we walked alot, we were so tired and we woke up late at 11am this morning! This morning we went to have lunch at Brazil BBQ restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui(TST), and we spent the rest of the day in TST. It was kind of expensive, but with great service and a nice environment. It's worth it!!!

After lunch we went to visit the Hong Kong Museum of History. The museum has over 45,000 objects which are about archaeological, local history, people's history, and natural history ... ... we were having fun and learned lots about the chinese culture and their history.

Then we went shopping at the Park Lane Shopper's Boulevard. We also went to walk around at the Kowloon Park which is next to Park Lane, a large public park in TST. There are plenty of flowers and trees, it is an abundance of scenic spots which included the Bird Lake, Bainiao Garden, children's amusement park, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, also there is a labyrinth and banyan courtyard. We took lots of pictures there. Next to the Kowloon Park, it's the Kowloon Mosque and Islamic Centre; one of the four principal mosques in HK and currently it is the largest Islamic house of worship in the city.

Supper time, we had buffet at Tadia across the road of the Kowloon Park. There were lots of different kinds of food: Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Western style... ... we ate lots of lobster, sushi, oyster, desert, crabs etc. It was yummy yummy. Onion_017_.gif

We finished supper around 9:30pm, the street was getting crowded. The main road - Nathan Roaf Road was closed, people were walking on the road. All the people were heading to the east of TST (the harbour) which is next to the Star Ferry Station, they were getting ready for count down, there were fireworks at 12am to ring int he new year. It was so crowded, people were so excited! This is the first time we count down together overseas. We were also incredibly excited!
It was so crowded, we spent an hour walking to the Harbour and found a spot to watch the fireworks. It was so pretty! Amazing!!!
